Act 26: Teammates

Another one of my travel softball pitchers had a lesson she had to go to for pitching. She asked me to catch for her and I said I would. We went to Iroquois School to do her pitching lesson. I caught for her while her pitching coach was helping and instructing her. She first warmed up pitching and then she went on to doing this endurance round. The one thing she had to do was a suicide run in the gym. I cheered her on as she ran so it would motivate her to push through. After that, she took a break and then went back to a contest. If she did not fulfill the things she had to do correctly, she had to do lunges across the gym. She did sadly lose and had to do lunges. However, so she did not have to do them alone, I joined her, to help her get through the exercise. I am happy to be there for my teammate.

Act 25: College Friends

On Friday, two of my favorite people came and visited the school. They’re names are Sarah Mye and Amber Breyer. It was such a great surprise. I was so excited to see them! I haven’t seen them in so long, and I had so much to talk to them about. At one point, I was talking to Sarah, and I saw out of the corner of my eye that Amber had dropped her water bottle. I then excused myself from talking to Sarah and went to pick up the water bottle for Amber. She appreciated my act of kindness very much. I was glad that for just the little time that they visited, that I did a little act of kindness toward her for that day. I hope that my small act would stay with her for a while. I thought it was a nice gesture to give to her as she leaves the school.

Act 24: A Little Wave

I like to cheer people up when they are having a bad day. One day, I saw someone in the hall, having a pretty bad day. He seemed like he was very down in the dumps and that made me feel sad for him. So, as I was walking past him in the hallway, I gave him a little wave. Also, with that wave, I said hi to him. He got a big smile on his face. I was in the next class with him. In that class, he thanked me for waving and saying hello to him because it made him very happy. I am glad that I could help brighten someone’s day just a little bit. It makes me feel good that I can put a smile on someone’s face when they are not in the best mood. I turned my friend’s frown upside down. I will continue to watch out for my friend.

Act 23: Water Spillage

Over the weekend I was at a religion summit. I had to go to this summit as a part of the process for making your Confirmation. It was really early in the morning and I felt like I was sleep walking. I went with my two friends and I had to sit in the back of the car with the new system. I have no clue how someone could listen to that, that early in the morning. So, the day went on and then lunch time came. The bought us pizza and wing, which was a big plus. One of my friends had water in a cup. On accident, the cup was bumped and the water went everywhere. I went and got paper towels and helped to clean up the water right away. He appreciated the help that I gave because the water is everywhere. I was happy to help out and made sure that the mess was all cleaned up.

Act 22: Catching

This year I am on a new softball team. I am a player on the Clarence Red Devils. One of the positions I play is the catcher. Last week, one of the pitchers on my team was going to a gym to pitch. Something came up and she didn’t have anyone catching for her at the gym. The lessons started at eight. She asked me at seven to catch for her at eight. It was very last minute and I was very exhausted from the day. However, I told her I would because I knew how much she would appreciate it. So, my dad and I drove to Clarence Middle School to catch for her. When I got there, it was quite a cool surprise. I found out that it was a special pitching clinic. Pitchers cannot just go to these things, they have to be invited. It was pretty nifty. I felt honored for her to ask me to catch for her at this lesson.

Act 21: Happy Birthday

Birthdays are something that most people get very excited and happy about. Usually when it is someone’s birthday and people know it, they say “happy birthday”, of course. I feel that a simple “happy birthday” means a lot to someone when they hardly know the person. I feel as if it is taken more to heart and really makes the birthday boy or girl feel happy. Today, it was a kid’s birthday and I found out while I was in class with him. He seemed very excited that it was his birthday. I have never really talk to this specific kid before. We were waiting for the bell to ring and he was standing behind me. I was planning on saying “happy birthday”, and this was the perfect time. I turned around and said “happy birthday” to him! He looked like he really appreciated it. It felt good to put a smile on the face of someone I really didn’t know!
