Act 15: Getting Organized

This year I am taking U.S. History for a class. I really like Mr. Foss as a teacher because he relates everything to real life. It helps me to really understand the meaning of things in history better. For this class, one of the materials needed was a three ring binder. We were given a table of contents to keep all of our papers in order. It is a nice way to make sure no papers are lost. However, my one friend didn’t keep his papers organized. They were all just put randomly into a folder, not even in a binder. The papers are not in order and he has been asked to organize it many times. The one day, he came to me and told me that he finally got a binder, but no papers were put into it yet.. He asked to me help him organize it and I did. If it helps my friend keep his stuff in order for the class, I was happy to help him.

Act 14: Comfortable Enough

I went to the snowball over this past weekend. It was so much fun! And, I just love to dance, so I had a blast! I got ready at Cortney’s house and took pictures there also. Then, once we were all done with that, we headed to the dance. The music was pretty good and the lights were really cool. After the dance, I went to Nick’s house with a bunch of people. It was a lot of fun. We were all exhausted after the dance. However, we still had fun even though how tired we all were. Many people fell asleep early that night. The very last ones up were Brandon and I. We stayed up for a while and just talked until we got really tired. Then, it was getting to the point when we wanted to go to bed. There was no room for
Brandon to sleep, so I made him a little bed of blankets by the fire. I just wanted to make sure he was comfortable enough to sleep.

Act 13: The Blanket

Over Christmas, I love to buy gifts for people. At first I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to get my one friend. Guys are hard to shop for and I really wanted to think of something good for him. For weeks I kept thinking and thinking, and couldn’t come up with something that I thought he’d really like. Then, I talked to some of my friends and they gave me different ideas. One of the ideas was to make him one of those tie blankets. I was really interested in doing that. So, I went to the store and bought fabric. I sat down for about an hour and made this blanket. It turned out so good! When I gave it to him, he absolutely loved it. Then, some of the ties came undone, and I took it back home and retied it. Then, it looked perfect! I’m so glad he liked his blanket!

Act 12: The Door Holder

Last Friday night, I went out to dinner with my parents. My favorite dinner is a fish fry, and my parents knew that I would love to go out for one, and because it was Friday night. Also, I was an only child that night. Both of my sisters were away, so I got treated to a night out. The dinner was delicious. Both my mom and I had fish fries and my dad had shrimp. We went to Town and Country Family Restaurant, which is never disappointing for a good dinner. It was very relaxing and nice to spend quality time with my parents. Once we were done with our dinner, we went to the register to get our check. While we were standing there, I saw this older couple starting to walk out. The elderly man had a walker, and was having some trouble. Before he got to the door, I went and held the door for him. They appreciated my kindness very much and it felt good to help the couple in need.

Act 11: A Surprise

As I talked about before, Lindsey has left for Ireland for four months. It has still been hard, but things have been much better. One of Lindsey’s biggest things that she was upset about when she left is missing out on different events. The whole time she was telling me how upset she was, I’d tell her that she can always see pictures of big events when she comes back, and then she will know everything that happened. After hearing how upset Lindsey was, my little sister, Anne, and I have been thinking about what we could do so that when Lindsey came back from Ireland, it would feel like she never even missed a second of anything. Anne and I then decided to make a picture album. Every day since she left, we have been taking one picture a day of something that has happened. We are keeping tabs on our lives for Lindsey! And, now she won’t be upset because it’ll be like she has been home all along. This is a surprise for her, so I can’t wait until May, when she gets to see our project for her.

Act 10: Squeaky Clean

This past weekend, we had a four day weekend. It was such a nice little break from school and then it gave us a short week to be in school. The day we had off was because of Martin Luther King Jr. day. However, both of my parents still had to work. So, it was only my sister and I who were at home. When I got home from practice, the kitchen was a mess. I knew my mom would not like the mess at all! I decided to clean all the dishes that were piled up around the sink. I washed the table and also emptied and reloaded the dishwasher so that there would be no dishes or messes in sight. My mom came home from work and was so excited about the nice surprise. I had the kitchen clean and people would have never known that it was the same kitchen as before! It was squeaky clean!
